The achievements in studying the Durmitor fauna are undoubtedly of great scientific, cultural and educational importance reaching far beyond the frontiers of former Yugoslavia. This third part of "The fauna of Durmitor" presents further 11 papers, each of that is dedicated to a particular taxonomic group - to a class, an order, a family, subfamily, sometimes only to a single genus or subgenus, and even to one species. Similarly to previous volumes, some of the papers contain descriptions of new taxa collected on Durmitor mountain during the study of its fauna or of newly found species. The groups treated are birds, earthworms, millipedes (Diplopoda), butterflies (heterocera, Bombycidae et Sphingidae, Geometridae, Zygenoidea, Tortricoidea), bugs (Heteroptera), beetles (Curculionidae: Otiorhynchinae; Carabidae: Trechinae) and acars (Eriopyoidea).
