With the text part bilingual Danish and English, this book is the first complete catalogue of Danish Coleoptera based on the 11 faunistic districts that are now commonly used in Danish entomology. The distribution in the districts is shown for all 3682 known Danish species of Coleoptera. Records are divided into three periods: before 1900, 1900-1959, and 1960 and later. A total of more than 27,500 records are included in the catalogue - more than 23,000 of the from the most recent period. The introduction to the catalogue includes a number of faunistic notes and, in particular, nomenclaturel and systematic notes. Comments about the systematics are made with special reference to danish coleopteran literature. A list of accidental migrants and (several) introduced species is given after the catalogue of "genuine" (i. e. presumedly established) Danish species. The chapter on classification and nomenclature summarizes the knowledge in these fields up to the present days and should be read by any-one with an interest in Coleoptera.
