Notes:
The human skeletons discovered in 1956 during excavations at Hagia Petka Samardzhijska Church renewed the arguments about the place where Vasil Levski, the Bulgarian Apostle of Freedom, was re-buried. On this occasion, discussions of the archaeological data from the excavations of the church took place at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. This collection of articles contains the whole of the available documentation: excavation journals, photographs, notes made by the participants in the excavations, photographs and views of the restorers of the church made in 1972, the proceedings of the meetings of the scientific council of the Archaeological Institute with a Museum, as well as the full reports of the leader of the excavation team and of other experts (archaeologists, architects, and others). Excerpts from the discussions are also given.
