Notes:
The new atlas of the ground-beetles of The Netherlands describes the distribution and biology of almost 400 species in past and present. The book, written in Dutch, but with extensive English summary, treats the habitat-preferences of the species and the aspects for nature conservation resulting therefrom. The ecology, for which there is a long tradition of research in The Netherlands, is dealt with in particular. This volume of the series `Nederlandse Fauna` summarises the results of more than 40 years of faunistic and ecological research. In this way it places all the research in a wider context. For all species new maps of distribution in The Netherlands and Europe are given. The book is richly illustrated with drawings of beetles and colour-plates of habitats and beetles.
