Notes:
A Book on the Bulgarian Language contains separate articles written by outstanding Bulgarian linguists. It has been compiled to serve as a theoretical basis and a teaching aid for courses in Modern Bulgarian. The articles clarify in a general and complex fashion some basic issues in the history of the Bulgarian language, its phonetic system and grammar; they reveal concisely and systematically certain regularities in the structure of the language; they provide knowledge on different categories and norms and on the usage and meanings of language entities. The book can be used as an additional material in taking courses, for preparing seminars, practical exercises and examinations, writing diploma, bachelor`s and master`s theses. It is intended for students at the philological faculties of universities, pedagogical institutes and colleges, for teachers and for all people who have an interest in the problems of the Bulgarian language and would like to widen their knowledge in this sphere.
