The book contains a summary on the history of investigations on mammals in Mongolia, a brief overview on the nature of Mongolia, data on the taxonomy, morphology, distribution, ecology, behavious and the medicinal importance of 5 species of dipodids occurring in Mongolia. The remaining Dipodidae are already in press, to appear as a different book in the same series later this year.
