Notes:
The present volume of Fungi Bulgaricae summarizes data on one of the taxonomically most difficult groups, from a region which has never been reviewed so far. In total, 444 anamorphic species belonging to 52 genera and 15 anamorphic genera are considered. Fourteen species belonging to the genus Discosia are described as new to for the science. The volume includes keys for determination, descriptions of the most important morphological features of the taxa, symptoms of diseases caused by parasitic species on the host plants, lists of the hosts, a distribution in Bulgaria, a general geographic distribution, a systematic guide to the taxa, alphabetical index of both the fungi and the hosts. The keys and figures are mostly original, all translated into English and hence fully usable to the Western reader, which in itself is a precedent within Fungi Bulgaricae. The species descriptions are made on the basis of material originating from several herbaria. Richly illustrated, contains also an extensive bibliography from the area considered. The monograph is invaluable not only to mycologists and botanists, but also to specialists in phytopathology and quarantine officers.
