Notes:
The tables cover all formations from the Proterozoic to the Holocene. Separate tables devoted to volcanic and plutonic rocks display disgrsmmatically geological relations between the individual magmatic bodies and geological ages of formations into which the bodies were emplaced combined with the published radiometric data. A special table deals with radiometric dating of metamorphic crystalline rocks. The tables of geological systems contain information on their regional extent and bio- and lithostratigraphical subdivision. Finds of fossil fauna and flora are given as well as radiometric ages in respect to the analytical methods used and the nature of the mateial analysed. The exactness of the stratigraphical classification of the individual lithostratigraphic units and the verification degree of statigraphic boundaries are characterized by four groups: - the age is proved paleontologically with the accuracy of a stage or a zone - the age is proved paleontologically with the accuracy of a system or a series - the age is proved only approximately: with the accuracy of an erathem, or possibly a system - the age is deduced indirectly (from the superposition etc., or from possible finds of index fauna). The time scale of the tables and their international subdivision follows the IUGS scale of 1989 and, in some cases, W. B. Harland et al. (1989). The Czech version of the tables is full colour. An identical English version is printed in black/white on the other side of each table.
