The proskomidial discos of Tchiprovtsi of 1664 is a unique monument not only of the Bulgaria but of all the Orthodox world. The "discos" has been used in the orthodox liturgies. However, the place of birth of the discos is Tshiprovtsi — the main city of the Catholic episkopy in Bulgaria to that time. There are several Orthodox , Catholic and folklore elements on the discos, which makes it a kind of culturological phenomenon.
