Collecting Tours & Maps

We are pleased to offer 4 post-meeting collecting tours to marvelous places of Southwestern Bulgaria. Naturally, organising of all of these tours might be problematic in case there will be not enough travellers. Nevertheless, we encourage the interested colleagues to book as soon as possible so that we get idea about eventual participation in each tour.

Prices could be offered at this stage only approximatelty depending on the number of participants in each tour. Prices include bed and breakfast, transport and guide. Prices are listed under each tour description. Pleasant places for stay and collecting are guaranteed!

1st day
Blagoevgrad – Bansko, Pirin Mountain
- Collecting trip in deciduous and coniferous belt of Pirin Mountain,
areas of Bunderitsa and Bunderishka river valley

2nd day
Claiming on the peak Vihren (2914m a.s.l.),
- collecting in alpine zone of Pirin Mountain

3rd day
Bansko – vill. Trigrad (90km), Western Rhodopes Mountain
- Collecting trip in Trigradsko gorge and Buinovska river valley
- Visit of the caves “Djavolskoto Garlo” and “Jagodinska”

4th day
vill. Trigrad – Smoljan, Western Rhodopes Mountain
- Collecting trip around architecture reserve vill. Shiroka Luka,
and area of the Smoljanskite lakes

5th day
- Visit and collection around Bachkovski Monastery,
Western Rhodopes Mountain
- Visit and collection around Asenova Krepost ruins,
Western Rhodopes Mountain
- Back in Sofia

Blagoevgrad – Rilski Monastery, Rila Mountain
- Collecting trip in Rilska river valley and areas around Rilski Monastery
- Visit of the Rilski Monastery

2nd day
Rilski Monastery – Trun, Rui Mountain, Western Bulgaria
- Collecting trip in Erma river valley, nearby border with Serbia

3rd day
Trun – Ledenika,
Vrachanski Balkan ridge,
Stara Planina Mountains
- Collecting trip in Vratchanska Planina ridge
- Visit of the cave “Ledenika”

4th day
Ledenika – Belogradchik, Northwestern Bulgaria
- Visit and collection around the cave “Magurata”

Blagoevgrad – Melnik, Pirin Mountains
- Collecting trip in area of Melnishki rocks phenomenon
and Rozhen Monastery

2nd day
Melnik – Gotse Delchev – vill. Paril, Alibotush Mountains
- Collecting trip in Hambar Dere gorge
and foots of Tzarev peak, nearby border with Greece

3rd day
- Back in Sofia

Cigov Chark – Peshtera – Sofia
- Visit and collection around the cave “Snezhinka”
- Back in Sofia
